Custom Cuban Necklace: Length After Golden Week, Not a Blank Sailing

A custom Cuban necklace is a length in centimeters, a clasp, and a finish. A blank sailing on an East-West ocean service is none of those three.

On 29 September 2026, BRF Logistics updated its guide on China export sailings after Golden Week 2026. China's National Day Golden Week runs from 1 to 7 October. Drewry counted 58 announced blank sailings across 712 planned major East-West sailings for weeks 40–44 (28 September through 1 November), an 8 percent cancellation rate. About 64 percent of those cancellations were on eastbound Transpacific services. In that same sample, 92 percent of the 712 sailings were still scheduled to operate. Read that as a container calendar. It is not the shipping line on a necklace leaving Guangdong in a soft parcel.

What I actually quote

I quote custom Cuban and tennis jewelry. Length, clasp, finish. For a necklace, the length is the chain you want around the neck, in centimeters. It is not a bracelet wrist reading, and I will not convert one to the other.

What Golden Week changes, and what it does not

If a workshop was closed for the holiday week, the piece may not exist to photograph until staff are back. That is a timing problem. It is not a reason to invent an ocean freight number for a jewelry carton.

Blank sailings matter if you are booking a container. They do not rewrite a fashion-necklace weigh-in. I will not tell you your necklace freight rose 8 percent because Drewry counted 58 cancellations.
