A Cuban link chain length is a number, not a mood.

On 30 September 2026, JCK ran Sam Cooley's "Sunlit and Sentimental". It is a holiday gold story, not a listing of my catalog. Three bits are worth keeping if you are about to ask for a chain:

• Catbird's Leigh Batnick Plessner talks about delicate chains you never take off. One piece named in the story is the Petite Second Ave gold chain, 10k yellow gold, $398.
• JCK quotes the World Gold Council: U.S. buyers are already "favoring lighter-weight and lower-carat products."
• Sohail Dewani, at Jewelers League, cites September Google Trends. Searches for "gold jewelry" are about where they were a year ago. Searches for "silver jewelry" are up by about a third. The same story cites a McKinsey survey in which 43 percent of consumers plan to spend less on jewelry this holiday.

I do not sell that $398 10k chain. I buy fashion jewelry in Guangdong. A lighter mood in a New York shop does not resize a bracelet in Huizhou. The length still has to be written down.

What 19cm is

The listed bracelet is a Cuban hex-cut bracelet with a CZ cowboy clasp, steel, 9mm by 19cm, USD 16.99. 19cm is the length of that unit. It is not a promise that it fits your wrist. The stones on that clasp are cubic zirconia, not diamonds. The metal is steel fashion jewelry.

A necklace is a different measurement. The dense Cuban rounded necklace, steel, 8mm by 56cm, USD 17.99 is 56cm of chain, not 19cm of bracelet. I will not publish a chart that turns one into the other. If you need it longer or shorter, that is a quote.

Send the length in centimeters. If you do not own a tape, send your wrist measurement and how much slack you want, plus a photo of a chain you already wear next to a ruler. "A bit longer" is how the wrong piece gets packed.

Clasp, finish, country

The cowboy clasp is the clasp on that 19cm bracelet. If you want a different one, say so. Finish is the color you want to see. If the quote does not say solid gold, you are not buying the 10k chain from the JCK story. Gold tone, when a listing uses those words, is plating.
