First-time China personal shopper checklist for overseas buyers

If you’ve never used a China personal shopper / sourcing agent, the first order feels messy: WeChat screenshots, unclear sizes, and a price that isn’t the landed cost.

Use this checklist before you message YueFetch (or any agent). It saves a round-trip — and bad surprises.

1) Send something we can source

Best → good → workable:

1. 1688 / Taobao / product page link 2. Clear phone photos of the item + any label/SKU 3. A Pinterest/screenshot with notes (slower — we reverse-search factories)

No link and no photo? We can still brainstorm categories, but quoting takes longer.

2) Specs that prevent “wrong item”

Write these in one short note:

• Quantity (and whether matching sets matter)
• Size / color / material / voltage (for lights)
• Gift vs resale (affects packing & labeling)
• Must-have vs nice-to-have
• Ship-to country + city

3) Ask for a landed-style quote

A useful quote is three lines, not one number:

• Product
• International shipping (after weigh / volume)
• Service fee

4) Insist on photo QC before export

For first orders, ask for:

• Product photos after purchase
• Packing photos for fragile goods
• Tracking when it leaves Guangdong

5) Pay only through official channels
