Guangdong's autumn tourism subsidies start 11 September

Guangdong just turned the autumn travel tap on. The provincial Department of Culture and Tourism is handing out 30 million yuan in culture-and-tourism subsidies from 11 September through 31 October 2026, covering Mid-Autumn and National Day. Yangcheng Evening News put the figure on the record on 10 September — up from 20 million yuan in 2025. The 11 September start was already announced at a late-August briefing, later posted on the Guangzhou government site from Guangzhou Daily.

This is a hotel and ticket voucher. It is not a factory coupon, and it is not a YueFetch discount. Residents plus domestic and international visitors can use online and offline channels. The cap is 500 yuan off one transaction. Eligible spend covers hotels and homestays, scenic tickets, and tour packages, plus cruise and yacht trips, study and parent-child tours, and senior wellness travel.

The morning kickoff sits at Canton Fair Complex Hall A 1.2 in Guangzhou — the venue, not the autumn trade fair itself. Warm-up already happened: a 4 September carnival at Danxia Mountain and a global call for Guangdong cultural and tourism ambassadors. Late September, Meizhou runs a travel-with-food event.

Crowded streets, same factory calendar

Packed old towns do not rewrite workshop hours. Closures still follow the State Council autumn holiday notice: Mid-Autumn 25–27 September, Golden Week 1–7 October, and only three ordinary working days between them.
